Happy Veteran's Day!

It is, and always will be, my firm belief that we owe our very existence to our military veterans, and that each and every one of them deserves a free holiday on Veteran's Day every year. We say "thank you", and you soldiers just shrug it off with a timid "you're welcome". You're not in the military for the money, or the glory, or the really kewl uniform. You joined out of a sense of duty to our nation and the world... and for that, I salute you.

In trying to decide what to post today, I came across a couple of video's I thought you'd like to see.

From SK, I give you: Hangin' out with the Boys

For Da Grunt and his JarHead Dad.... It's All Over But The Shoutin!

And, from our President, George W. Bush:
....To protect the Nation they love, our veterans stepped forward when America needed them most. In conflicts around the world, their sacrifice and resolve helped destroy the enemies of freedom and saved millions from oppression. In answering history's call with honor, decency, and resolve, our veterans have shown the power of liberty and earned the respect and admiration of a grateful Nation.

All of America's veterans have placed our Nation's security before their own lives, creating a debt that we can never fully repay. Our veterans represent the best of America, and they deserve the best America can give them.

As we recall the service of our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen, we are reminded that the defense of freedom comes with great loss and sacrifice. This Veterans Day, we give thanks to those who have served freedom's cause; we salute the members of our Armed Forces who are confronting our adversaries abroad; and we honor the men and women who left America's shores but did not live to be thanked as veterans. They will always be remembered by our country...

"creating a debt that we can never fully repay." Isn't that the God's honest truth? How do you adequately repay those who have sacrificed so much in service of their country? I don't think it's possible, but I can tell you where to start: Start by supporting the soldier AND the mission, because without support of the mission itself, their sacrifices are diminished. I don't want the thousands who have been injured or killed in this war to live their lives thinking that America gave up on them.

Support our troops.
Support their mission.
And, no matter what else you do today... Say THANK YOU to EVERY veteran you know. Every.Last.One.
It's the least you can do. Of course if you want to do more, what better way to show it than to contribute to Valour-IT. It's the last day of the competition, but it is not the last day in rehab for our wounded warriors.
Please help us help those who have sacrificed their bodies and livelihood for our freedoms.
Thank you.
