Time to pick a side, folks!

Less than three weeks to go, my friends. It's time to pick a side: American or French/German/Chinese. In other words- Dubya or Le Commendant Kerry. Do you want a patriot or a traitor? An moral man or an immoral one? A straight-shooter or a waffle iron?

Let's face it. We may not agree with all of Bush's policies, but at least he's committed to them and honest about them. Kerry, on the other hand, can't seem to make up his mind about anything but hammering Bush, no matter how he does it. Kerry announced last night that Bush is ignoring minorities and has never met with the Black Caucaus or the NAACP. LIE. Total Lie! But, damn! Wasn't Kerry believable when he said it? His history of lying to get what he wants probably goes all the way back to childhood- he's just never grown out of it. He says his Catholic upbringing influences his life, but he doesn't want his faith to influence the lives of others. Well then, just exactly what do you believe in, Mr. Kerry? I'm not Catholic, but I am a Christian, and I can tell you that the bible is full of references to telling the truth. I'm not asking anything more of you than I ask from my 4 and 7 year old boys, for heaven's sake! Senator Kerry didn't earn the "Boston Backstabber" nickname over nothing. He's the undesputed KING of bait and switch. Mr. "I won't let other countries dictate our national security policies" Kerry says he wants the US to pass a "global test" for support of military action, but yet he won't let other countries tell us what to do. Hah! I smell WAFFLES! Mr. "I'm Catholic yet support a woman's right to abortion" Kerry who wouldn't let Catholic Pro-Lifers into a recent rally: Mr. "I voted for the war before I voted against it" Kerry, who would pull our troops out of Iraq and leave it to be taken over by the very rebels we are trying to get rid of? Yeah, right. You've got my vote. Kerry is the the ultimate candidate for ALL Americans, no matter which side you take on ANY issue. See here (this is great!): If you can't hear the add when you open the link, here's another link you can try: They are both radio ads, so there's no video- just audio. You've GOT to listen. If you haven't made up your mind yet on which candidate is more honorable and trustworthy, you will have by the time you've finished listening to the ad.

Now, to be fair, I don't support all of Bush's ideas. The whole sending jobs overseas problem is HUGE. Last night President Bush offered education assistance to those who have lost their jobs, to prepare them for "the jobs of the next century". I don't think he realizes what kind of jobs are going to India- they are NOT all manufacturing jobs. Most are in the high tech industries. Aren't we considered a high tech country? Good thing we're sending all of those high tech jobs overseas then. Heaven forbid we keep them here! Oh- and just how is the outsourced worker supposed to support themselves and their family while taking advantage of the education assistance Bush has offered them? If you're a full time student, you can't be a full time breadwinner (and in many cases can't be a part time breadwinner either). I know this from personal experience. I've been trying to figure out how to go to school and work at the same time for YEARS now and it just doesn't work very well. Working interferes with my attempts to return to college because I'm making too much money to get financial aid. But if I quit my job and qualify for financial aid, I can't pay my bills. It's a catch-22.
I also don't agree with his Pro-Life stance. It's too harsh. I support a woman's right to an abortion, support the ban on partial birth abortions (at the point they are performed, it's MURDER, not medical), and do not support parental or paternal notification laws, and do not support federal funding for abortions(as Kerry wants). Abortion should be protected as a private, personal decision of the woman until the fetus is 12-16 weeks old. After that point, they should be illegal unless performed to save the life of the mother because the fetus has developed pain reflexes by that point. They may not be able to survive outside of the womb at 12-16 weeks, but the baby has developed too much to ignore their rights by that time. Last week Kerry said basically that abortions are a constitutional right which should be provided at public expense to those who cannot afford one on their own. Bullshit! If my private insurance won't pay for a voluntary abortion, why should the government? It's a personal decision to end a pregnancy and should be paid for with personal funding, not public funding. Public funding already pays for birth control pills, so there is a way to prevent pregnancy at the public expense already.

With all of that said, I still firmly believe that Bush should be relected and is the best choice for President. GO DUBYA!
